I'm still adjusting to the electronic age. Even though I was the office geek before I retired, I'm still not up on all the new electronic devices.

I finally noticed that Kindle has a text-to-speech function! Oh my goodness, what a God-send to people with reading disorders. I have family members who suffer from dyslexia and other reading problems. If only we'd had Kindle when they were coming up, it would've made their mandatory school reading assignments so much easier!

However, please note that this function is usable only on the Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard, Kindle (2nd generation) and Kindle DX.

I've went back though the featured books and noted all the Kindle editions that have text-to-speech enabled so if your teen or young adult suffers from a reading disorder, he/she has the option of listening to the text. I paid special attention to the Accelerated Reading (AR) listings and will continue to add AR books to the website for your convenience. I also added some book review websites under Resources, because the more information you have, the easier it is to select age-appropriate reading materials for your teen.
